CCDed.exe -- what is it?
« on: June 02, 2006, 08:03:19 AM »
I've noticed a process is running as a a service, CCDed.exe.  There's no description for the service (CCDed), the exe is in:

c:\webcc\ccded\ccded.exe

It appears to be .NET application.

Does anyone have any idea what this is?

This service allows CT to monitor the dedicated servers and also allows you to access various options (reboot, shutdown, etc.) from the WebControlCenter.

What morovan has said is correct.  So if you can please refrain from removing the service, since it's very essential tool within the ControlCenter.

Just to add to Anthony's post, the CCDed application is how some of the functions of the Control Center communicate with the dedicated servers. Anyone that uses the Windows firewall, or any other software firewall, CCDed uses ports TCP/743 and TCP/52155. In order for the application to function correctly there must be exceptions for these ports in the firewall.
