Transfer or Export Emails from another Hosting Company

I am transferring a new client to my reseller shared hosting account.  They are on a non-Crystaltech host now using SmarterMail a version 3.??  They have tons of emails they would love to transfer over to Crystal tech in their inbox now. 

I know how to transfer the contact list, but what about emails?  A long or short way to do it?

Any tips or advice is appreciated.

I just transferred all of my emails from another host to CrystalTech.

I did it by downloading the mails from my old host into Outlook Express. Then I set up my new CrystalTech email account using IMAP.

After that I simply dragged the emails from the Inbox to the new CrystalTech IMAP account. It worked like a charm.
