Hey all. For those of you who're using MySQL, I'm sure you're familiar with the issue with the MySQL driver that was causes Null Pointer Exceptions until you call Support and have them turn "Maintain connections across client requests" off in the CF admin. I got a few gray hairs just trying to track that one down before the techs got turned on to the issue as a standard fixable issue.

So, for those of you who've now migrated to CF9, is there still a problem with this? Is it something I need to be concerned about when I migrating my client sites?

Adobe was SUPPOSED to fix that....  ::) oh well.

I've been receiving less and less of this error. Infact I dont think I've seen one with CF9, but our CF9 was in Beta until about 5 days ago.

Kevin, thanks for that update. I will be starting on a new site next week in CF9 and will report if this null null error shows up.

Haven't migrated any of my old sites (several CF7s, a few CF8s)  to CF9 yet, but may be doing so once we get a picture of stability issues, etc. I find that my CF8 sites are are bit more likely to get timeout, connection errors, etc., even with the "Maintain connections" uncheck fix in place.

Thx, Kevin. If you see this continuing to be an issue with CF9, could you/support post a notification on the forum to that effect? It would be great to know before I start doing my migrations

Paul could you PM me your domain name and DSN your using? The MySQL 5.1.6 driver does have a few null pointer bugs in it still. I think the next release should be fixing a lot of them.
