Junior Member Coming Out Party
« on: March 08, 2007, 03:39:00 PM »
Yippee!  I'm now an official Junior Member!  Yes!

For I'm a jolly good fellow, for I'm a jolly good fellow, etc.

I know, I know - it's not really that big a deal.  After all, how good can a guy really feel being labeled a "junior member"?  It's like being in the showers in high-school again.  I mean, sure I expect that kind of comment from my wife.  But I had really hoped for more support here.

You know, I was kind of hoping, with the clout that surely comes from my Junior Member status, that someone at CT might confide in me about how, exactly, they managed to get John Travolta's son to model for the CT home page.  (If you don't know what I'm talking about, visit the home page and hit refresh till you see him).

Thanks Ryan.

With all the testiness over the SM4 stuff, I thought I'd try to lighten the mood a little.  I have a warped (some might say "sick") sense of humor.  Hopefully I won't have annoyed too many people with it.

If I offended anyone, sorry 'bout that.

I bet they do.  You know those child-of-Hollywood types.

And why's the Coldfusion guy wearing a tie, but the DotNetNuke guy is dressed like a bum.  Is CT trying to imply that Coldfusion developers are stuffy?  Or that DotNetNuke developers are slobs?  At least the DotNetNuke guys has a collar shirt.  The asp.net 2.0 plan model is wearing a t-shirt.

I shudder to think what a hypothetical C/C++ developer model would be wearing (or not wearing)...

Oddly enough, both of those pictures do resemble former employees. Not Alec per se, but 2 guys that were with us for some time and have since moved on to jobs outside of web hosting.

We did, at one point in time, have a home page that had the various plan types listed, with a person attached to each. I've forgotten how each played out, but it made for a lively discussion as to the subtext of the picture in relation to the language. At the time, the designer said it was all purely coincidental, but I'm still not convinced it was.

I don't think anybody will be signing me up real soon to model for their websites either.  Well, maybe if it's a "butts and guts" photoblog or something.

This guy looks like a Supernova candidate. There are some bald guys in that show. He looks almost the same.
